AddedValue Globals in aecc

This page displays and allows you to edit, all Global variables in your site. A global variable can have values like any other added Value, but there is only one copy of it for the whole website. Globals are useful because

• you can interrogate their values using the showVal macro from any page.
• other variables values can be constrained to items in the valuelist of a global variable

For example, define a global called keywords, edit its value list to be Cats, Dogs and Canaries. Now create a message keyword variable and set its values must be to 'values of global keywords' and addedValues will will ensure that no other valus of keyword will be accepted.

Values for globals can be set manually or by using the adddedValue rpchandlers or other adddedValue plugin scripting interfaces. There is no macro to set global values.
